: Message from the PTA National President

PTA nationa president Jan Harp Domene speaks at the 2008 Convention
PTA Leaders and Members,

Excuses to visit sunny California are pretty easy to come by, but PTA would like to offer you a genuine reason to come to the West Coast this summer. By joining us in San Diego for the 112th Annual PTA National Convention and Exhibition, June 20-23, 2008, you will have the opportunity to connect with PTA members from all over the country as we discover together how to truly make every child’s potential a reality.

The annual convention has plenty to offer for members at all levels of our organization. There will be workshops and presentations to help everyone become better informed, more organized, and even greater involved members of their school communities. Not only will this year’s sessions teach you new ways to boost student achievement, expand membership, and advocate for the well-being and education of children, but I’m thrilled to announce that convention attendees will also be treated to very special keynote addresses from Maya Angelou and Dr. Sanjay Gupta!

A terrific host city for conventions, San Diego is known for its hospitality, history, beautiful weather, and world famous zoo. More importantly, however, is our annual convention’s reputation for being an incredible learning experience, and it is you who makes it so. The PTA National Convention is truly your convention; the sessions make it educational, but your participation—your connecting with other members—makes it unforgettable.

With such extraordinary programming, the return of the Parents’Expo, and plentiful networking opportunities, PTA is expecting of them?

We can’t wait to see you in San Diego!

Sincerely,

Jan Harp Domene
PTA National President
