: Message from National PTA President

Memphis. It’s the home of Graceland, Beale Street, great barbecue, and the blues—and soon to be the birthplace of brand-new PTA® ideas, initiatives, education, and influence. On June 10–13, thousands of parents, teachers, students, and leaders will come to this fun city for the 114th Annual National PTA Convention and Exhibition—and I hope you’re planning to be one of them!

This year, I’m especially excited for the focus on diversity and inclusion in PTA, specifically through our Men Organized to Raise Engagement (MORE) alliance, Urban Family Engagement initiative, and Youth Summit. This convention will allow us to tackle these important issues head-on, all at once, together. We’ll also have more than 50 workshops, 200 exhibits, hundreds of resources, and countless opportunities for you to voice your opinions among a mobilized and motivated group that has the power to turn talk into action. I can say from experience that the national convention is truly an incredible event.

Even though we’ll keep you busy and entertained at the convention, you’ll also have plenty of ways to experience all Memphis has to offer, from the lively Memphis Zoo to the historic Sun Studios to the family-friendly Mud Island River Park. Toss in some good old Southern charm and you can see why this year’s convention is one you won’t want to miss. Endless entertainment to recharge your mind and spirit and invaluable PTA workshops to enhance your knowledge and talents—it doesn’t get any better.

Join me and your fellow PTA members at the 114th Annual National PTA Convention and Exhibition in Memphis this summer. We’ll talk, share, eat, laugh, and learn, all while working toward making life better for our kids, helping future generations reach their fullest potential.
