Laura Bay |
Laura Bay served two years as president of Washington State PTA and eight years on the Washington State PTA Board of Directors. She is also a member of several local PTAs and has represented WSPTA on several state wide stakeholder organizations. Bay recently served on the National PTA Organizational Viability Committee. She has attended various NPTA conferences/trainings such as NPTA Convention, Legislative, NCS, and Leadership. Her previous service to PTA includes service on the WSPTA Board of Directors: Leadership Director (1 year), Secretary (3 years), Region 1 Director (2 years).
Bay also served on a variety of WSPTA Committees/Task Forces over the last 11 years – from chairing the Executive Director Search Committee to State Nominating Committee and Standards of Excellence Committee. At the Council and Local Unit level (elementary and secondary) she served as: president, secretary, treasurer, and vice president. Bay has also served as legislative chair, membership chair, fundraising chair, and awards chair. Bay's community involvement includes being a soccer coach for 10 years; 4-H leader for five years; church: lector for six years, eucharistic minister for six years, choir member for six years, Sunday school for five years, and marriage preparation lead couple for 12 years. Prior to being employed at the school district, Bay sat on various budget, curriculum, and early education committees. She also served a total of 14 terms on site-based shared decision making teams at the elementary and middle school level. |
